An effort to meet each and every customer's need.
PCBYTE is dedicated to offering the best experience to its customers. This extends to our support policy, with a focus on meeting each and every customer need. When buying an item in our online store (at www.pcbyte.pt) or in one of our physical stores, the customer is automatically covered by the Satisfaction Guarantee, under which an item may be exchanged within the first 14 (fourteen) days if it has not met expectations.
1. Satisfaction Guarantee
1.1 The PCBYTE Guarantee
Without prejudice to the return rights granted under the terms below, PCBYTE guarantees its customers a period of 14 (fourteen) days to check whether the purchased item meets their expectations. If, within that period, you find that the purchased item does not meet your expectations, you may request its exchange for another item sold by PCBYTE.
For the item to be exchanged, it must comply with the conditions in Section 3 (CONDITIONS OF THE ITEM TO BE EXCHANGED OR RETURNED), and be in the original condition in which we sold it.
This Guarantee and right of exchange do not apply to any of the items listed in Section 4 (ITEMS NOT SUBJECT TO EXCHANGES OR RETURNS).
1.2 Starting the Exchange Process
To start the exchange, simply visit one of the PCBYTE stores with the item and your invoice, or, if that is not possible, open an RMA request in the reserved area of the PCBYTE online store (at www.pcbyte.pt), stating "Commercial Return" as the reason. You must then ship the item via courier to the PCBYTE Central Warehouse; return shipping costs are borne by the customer.
PCBYTE will assess the condition of the item and reserves the right to reject the exchange, in which case it will contact the customer to collect the item at the customer's expense. We may, on a case-by-case basis, arrange collection and delivery to the address indicated by the customer, without prejudice to the customer paying for such transport.
1.3 Refund and Exchange for New Items
If PCBYTE determines that the item is in a condition to be exchanged and is within the 14 (fourteen) day period, it will issue a credit note in favor of the customer for the price of the exchanged product (the amount on the respective invoice). This credit note can be used in part or in full towards new purchases at PCBYTE, either in the online store (at www.pcbyte.pt) or directly in one of our physical stores, once linked to the customer's account. The credit note is valid for 1 (one) year.
1.4 Other Rights
The Satisfaction Guarantee is provided strictly in the terms above. Any rights related to cancellation and return, in particular those in Section 2 (RETURNING PURCHASES FROM PCBYTE.PT), apply only to consumers (a natural person making the purchase outside the scope of a commercial, industrial, artisanal or professional activity, or, for mixed-use goods, where the commercial purpose is not predominant in the overall contract). If the customer does not qualify as a consumer (for example, if the purchase was made by a company), and outside the cases covered by the Satisfaction Guarantee, any exchange/return request will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and may be refused by PCBYTE at its sole discretion.
2. Returning Purchases from pcbyte.pt
2.1 What is the return period?
Consumers may return purchases made at pcbyte.pt within 14 days from the date of delivery or in-store pickup of the product.
Purchases for products that were reserved (including online) but only paid for upon the customer's visit to the store for pickup are not eligible for return.
2.2 How is the refund issued?
The consumer is always refunded through the same payment method used for the purchase. In the case of a return, the refund will be issued after validation of the return conditions described below.
2.3 Can any item be returned?
Any item may be returned by a consumer within the deadlines above, provided that:
- It complies with the conditions in Section 3 (CONDITIONS OF THE ITEM TO BE EXCHANGED OR RETURNED); and
- It does not match any of the items in Section 4 (ITEMS NOT SUBJECT TO EXCHANGES OR RETURNS).
PCBYTE clarifies that, for purchases made at pcbyte.pt, the consumer has the right to inspect, with due care, the nature, characteristics and operation of the goods, but may be held liable for any depreciation of the goods if handling exceeds what is normally allowed in a physical store.
In the event of breach of any of these points, we reserve the right to reject the return (and the subsequent refund) or the exchange, or to pass on the cost of the depreciation due to abusive inspection/handling, deducting the economic value of such depreciation from the amount to be refunded or credited.
2.4 How to return an item purchased at pcbyte.pt?
To return an item purchased at pcbyte.pt, the consumer may:
- Go to one of the PCBYTE stores with the item and your invoice; or
- Open an RMA request in the reserved area of the PCBYTE online store (www.pcbyte.pt) and ship the item to PCBYTE's premises marked "Commercial Return" (JWEB, LDA, RMA Department, Rua Milho da Ponte, no. 59, 3250-254 Maçãs D. Maria).
PCBYTE will assess the condition of the item and reserves the right to reject the return, in which case it will contact the customer to collect the item at the customer's expense and may charge for collection. We may, case by case, arrange shipping to the address indicated by the customer, without prejudice to the customer paying for such transport.
3. Conditions of the Item to be Exchanged or Returned
PCBYTE informs that returned goods will only be accepted if they strictly meet the following conditions:
- The returned item must be in the same condition in which it was sold, intact and without any mark/damage from use;
- You must return the item together with its packaging, manuals and accessories, all in pristine condition;
- Along with the returned goods, you must include the invoice referring to that item.
Remember: in order for a return or exchange to result in customer compensation, whether by refund or credit note, the product must be in a condition that allows PCBYTE to resell it. When returning a product, please make sure it is in a condition to be purchased by another customer. Consider, in this exercise, your own willingness to acquire the product you are returning.
Note: In the case of returning or exchanging a small or large appliance whose sale is limited exclusively to the online store (i.e., not available for purchase/pickup directly at a physical PCBYTE store), the return or exchange must be requested via the online store by opening an RMA in the reserved area. PCBYTE customer support for this type of item is not available at physical stores.
4. Items Not Subject to Exchanges or Returns
Except in the case of technical defects, there are items that, by their nature (for reasons of hygiene, safety, risk of data transmission, manufacturer recommendations, etc.), cannot be accepted for returns/exchanges.
Without prejudice to other customer rights set out herein or in applicable law, returns or exchanges are not accepted for:
- Towels, consoles, earphones/headphones/headsets, batteries, memory cards, external drives, consumables or software;
- Clothing, depilators, shaving and hair clippers, vacuum cleaners, already-assembled chairs, food processors, scooters, bicycles, segways, televisions, laptops, mobile phones, smartphones, smartwatches or tablets whose brand packaging seals have been broken.
Note: PCBYTE reserves the right to refuse returns/exchanges of items whose Serial Number has already been registered/linked to a user account in the online platforms/apps of various manufacturers. Linking an item (via Serial Number) to an online platform/app may, in many cases, allow users who no longer hold the item to control and track it while it is in the hands of third parties. For this reason, PCBYTE warns of the potential refusal of exchanges/returns for the full protection of its customers.
In the event of breach of any of these points, we will not be able to accept the return/exchange (and the corresponding refund or credit note).
5. PCBYTE Advice & Tips
Before completing a purchase, the customer should make every effort to ensure that the product being purchased is really the one that will meet their expectations and that it will be suitable for the intended use. The Internet is a powerful tool for information and clarification of doubts.
Therefore, without prejudice to the usefulness of the cooling-off period, before completing a purchase PCBYTE recommends that its customers read and, if possible, follow these points:
- Make sure the product meets what you are looking for.
- Search for the product in search engines, watch videos of that product on YouTube or send us your questions through one of our contacts. Don't forget: the internet is a powerful tool for information.
- Check whether you have a friend, colleague or family member who owns the product you intend to buy and, if so, try to get their feedback.
- If you are buying/picking up your equipment in a physical store, ask the salesperson all the questions you need.
- Once the product is purchased, always be careful when opening the box/packaging and observe how the equipment, accessories and manuals are arranged inside.
In the event of a return/exchange, the more closely you follow the conditions for returning the product, the easier the task will be for all parties involved.
